2014 Round Up

Well, what a season we’ve had. As you can expect from a “proper” runs water the fish played their part with an average of 50 fish per angler per week with most of these 20’s and 30’s and the occasional 40lb’er from the large lake. The large lake itself has come on a lot over the last 12 months as most regular customers noticed during their trip this year of the large numbers of 30’s coming out on a daily basis.
Roseau Carp Fishery is largely all about the fish but there’s no denying that other parts of the complex play a major role in your holiday, the Roseau lodge is a place that has seen many great evenings socialising with like minded people of all ages and abilities, I for one have met some great people that I can now call my friends.
We always welcome young families or “Dad’s and lad’s”, it’s quite funny really as most younger carpers come with the intention of smashing the large lake but end up spending time up at the lodge either with my children or other young’uns, they normally end up on the stock pond with some small whips catching the young carp which I have been growing, all great fun and definitely not just for the young ones. If not here then you can find them in the lodge playing pool or throwing stones for the much loved Syd, the Roseau Boxer
So, what’s new for 2015. As some of you already know we have been building decked platforms in the pegs and the start of the new season will see the remaining pegs completed, this will be 5,6,7 and peg 8 as well as a new platform between the current two platforms on the small lake to create a bit more room for landing and returning your catches.
The small lake has always been that bit harder than the large lake but with most of the stock 30’s or high 20’s it’s well worth sitting it out a bit longer and if you’ve been following us you’ll know that Big Tail came out as I predicted at over 50lb to Kevin Coventry, she weighed 50lb 02oz and looked the best I’ve ever seen her.
Roseau is getting very popular now due to word of mouth from you awesome people, it’s you guys that make Roseau so special and we thank you for that very much. If you haven’t been to Roseau but are thinking about it then ask some of the regulars on here as to what it’s like then act quickly as it really does sell out fast.
I hope you all had another great holiday with us in 2014 and we look forward to seeing you in 2015
Until then
